This was a 46,000 m² job north of Slave Lake, Alberta in challenging conditions.
The original engineering for this project was to use geo-textile and over 1.5 meters of pit run and gravel. Due to the October start date of this project it would have been difficult to finish the project before the winter ground freeze. Pembina looked into soil stabilization as an alternative development method.
With the decision to stabilize, Pembina was able to use existing soil to complete the project in significantly less time.
